Host Clint Barrick catches up Lubbock Symphony Orchestra Director, Mary Saathoff, about the final production of the Masterworks Series. Guest Conductor Daniel Myssyk leads the LSO alongside a solo performance by Andrew Staupe of Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3 in C Minor.
Adding to the concert, American composer Jennifer Higdon’s Blue Cathedral is performed for the first time by the LSO. Lastly, the emotional melodies of Tchaikovsky are exemplified in his Symphony No. 6, Pathétique, also considered a last statement before his death.
