Local Programming Tonight on Channel 5 06/07/2012
It's another great night of quality, local programming on Channel 5!
We kick off the night with an all new Inside Texas Tech with Chancellor Kent Hance at 8. This edition looks at Tech's financial services. Becky Wilson, Director of the Texas Tech Office of Financial Aid, joins Chancellor Hance in the studio to discuss how her office helps students obtain financial aid for their education. Keith Kohanek takes you inside Red to Black, a service started by Tech's Personal Financial Planning program to help students and community members take control of their finances. Sophia Halbrook continues her series on Texas Tech traditions, this time learning the history of the Guns Up symbol. Robert Giovannetti profiles Terry and AT&T Scholars from the university.
Next, it's Hub City Sound! It's a summer of music and fun with the Buddy Holly Summer Showcase, an annual concert series happening every Thursday in the Meadows Courtyard. Catch new performances on TV, Thursdays at 8:25pm only on Channel 5!
At 8:30, it's another new edition of 24 Frames! This time, Paul Hunton travels to Austin for the Texas Film Hall of Fame Awards. See interviews with Meat Loaf, Angie Dickinson, G.W. Bailey, Barry Corbin, and Directors Richard Linklator and Robert Rodriquez. 24 Frames also screens the documentary Trash Dance, a short film combining the talents of sanitation workers, professional dancers, and choreographer Allison Orr that debuted at SXSW 2012.
We hope you tune for another night of quality, local programming on your Public Broadcasting Station!
