OPHIRA EISENBERG, HOST:

You're listening to ASK ME ANOTHER from NPR and WNYC. I'm Ophira Eisenberg. Coming up, we'll reminisce about the songs of summer, and we'll take a cinematic tour of New York City. Plus we'll put director David Wain and actor B.J. Novak up to another ASK ME ANOTHER challenge. But first, joining us onstage right now are Allison Kelsey and Sam Denehy.

(APPLAUSE)

EISENBERG: Allison, you are joining us from Philadelphia.

ALLISON KELSEY: I am.

EISENBERG: And you used to work in Central Park.

KELSEY: I did, I did.

EISENBERG: What did you do?

KELSEY: I did. I worked for the Central Park Conservancy. I had a fellowship during graduate school, and I ran around with a clipboard and some paper and an eraser and did condition surveys.

EISENBERG: Excellent. Sam is also visiting. You're visiting from Missouri, St. Louis, Missouri.

WILL SHORTZ: That's correct.

EISENBERG: And you are on your honeymoon.

SAM DENEHY: Yeah.

EISENBERG: This is your honeymoon right now?

DENEHY: Currently, yeah.

EISENBERG: We are all part of your honeymoon, do you realize that, forever?

(APPLAUSE)

EISENBERG: This game is called They're Not Booing. Jonathan, I'm sure you don't hear any booing at your concerts, correct?

JONATHAN COULTON: No, there's a lot of booing at my concerts. It's sort of a constant, low-level booing. But I actually, I don't think it's booing. I think that much like they do at a Bruce Springsteen concert, I think probably they're yelling Bruuuuuce. That's what I assume, anyway.

EISENBERG: So contestants, in this game, your answers should fit right in because when you answer, you must draw out the sound to match a Springsteen crowd. If we asked on "Rocky and Bullwinkle," what kind of animal is Bullwinkle, you would answers moooose. OK. Allison's like really, this is what we're doing? Yes it is.

KELSEY: All right.

EISENBERG: So ring in when you know the answer, and give us your best oooo sound, and the winner will move on to the Ask Me One More final round at the end of the show. Treetop, Motts and Martnellis are bestselling brands of what kind of beverage?

(SOUNDBITE OF BELL)

EISENBERG: Sam.

DENEHY: Apple Juuuuice.

EISENBERG: That is right.

(LAUGHTER)

(APPLAUSE)

COULTON: Not very heartfelt, though.

(LAUGHTER)

EISENBERG: According to Greek mythology, who is the ruler of Mount Olympus?

(SOUNDBITE OF BELL)

EISENBERG: Allison.

KELSEY: Zeuuuuus.

EISENBERG: Exactly.

(APPLAUSE)

EISENBERG: In geometry, what's the term for an angle greater than 90 degrees but less than 180 degrees?

(SOUNDBITE OF BELL)

EISENBERG: Sam?

DENEHY: Obtuuuse. That's (unintelligible).

(LAUGHTER)

COULTON: You guys sound foolish.

EISENBERG: I like that you did that at the end, you sort of apologize. You're like obtuuuse. And that is correct, exactly.

(APPLAUSE)

EISENBERG: Owned by Bacardi, this is a popular brand of vodka made in France.

(SOUNDBITE OF BELL)

EISENBERG: Allison?

KELSEY: Grey Goooose.

EISENBERG: That is how people who drink it say it. You are correct.

(APPLAUSE)

EISENBERG: Author J.D. Salinger was famous for being this kind of person, one who withdraws from public sight.

(SOUNDBITE OF BELL)

EISENBERG: Sam.

DENEHY: Recluuuuse.

(LAUGHTER)

(APPLAUSE)

EISENBERG: That is correct. You kind of said it like one, actually.

(LAUGHTER)

EISENBERG: What's a shade of light green tinged with yellow?

(SOUNDBITE OF BELL)

EISENBERG: Allison.

KELSEY: Puuuce.

COULTON: That is a nasty clue because that is a color with an oooo sound.

EISENBERG: And it's greenish.

COULTON: But it's not the right one.

EISENBERG: Oh, come on.

(SOUNDBITE OF BELL)

EISENBERG: Sam?

DENEHY: Chartreuuuuse.

EISENBERG: Chartreuse is correct. It's also the name of a liquor and the name of the drag queen waitress that might serve it to you.

(LAUGHTER)

EISENBERG: And this is your last question. You'd find this at the end of a freight train or in the seat of your pants.

(SOUNDBITE OF BELL)

EISENBERG: Allison.

KELSEY: Cabooose.

EISENBERG: Caboose is right. Well done. Will, how did our amazing contestant do?

SHORTZ: They both scored well, but our champion is Sam.

(APPLAUSE)

EISENBERG: Sam, you'll be moving on to our Ask Me One More final round. Allison, a fantastic contestant, thank you so much. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
