Robert ''Bob'' Wert graduated from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, N.J. Bob heard there was an opening in Lubbock and got out the maps to see where it was. He was at First United Methodist Church in Clarksburg, W.Va., in 1961, when he decided to go west. He had grown up in Lynchburg, Va., Washington, D.C., and Tennessee.

Bob Wert has been director of the choir program at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Lubbock since 1978.

Dr. Jerry Dwyer is a professor in the Department of Mathematics & Statistics and Director of the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Center for Outreach, Research & Education (STEM-CORE) at Texas Tech University. His PhD is in computational mathematics from the National University of Ireland.
