Texas Standard: Beyonce, Feminism Class Offered at University of Texas at Austin

College students around the country know about musicians Beyonce and Rihanna. Now, students can put their knowledge to the test by taking a course about the female pop culture icons. 

The University of Texas at Austin will offer a class called "Beyonce Feminism, Rihanna Womanism" beginning in the spring of 2015. The innovative course will explore the role of the pop divas in feminism and society. 

Omise'eke Tinsley, Ph.D., explained how her new class will teach college students about black feminism.

Inside Texas Tech: Experts on Crude Price Decline, Possibility of $20 a Barrel

In June 2014, the price of a barrel of oil was roughly $115 per barrel, leading to gas prices that were well over $3 per gallon. 

Not anymore.

Prices of oil have crashed in the last six months, starting 2015 with the price of crude oil at a five-year low as the current price hovers around $45 per barrel, a 60 percent slash in value.
