Defunding the Corporation for Public Broadcast and eliminating federal funding to public media would be a significant blow to more than 1,200 public radio stations across the country that provide 41 million people every week with free over-the-air programming they can't find anywhere else.

Texas Tech Public Radio provides news and information as well as music to the greater Lubbock community on the air and on digital platforms.  KTTZ-FM provides non-commercial programming that informs, educates, and inspires.

Fresh Air Weekend highlights some of the best interviews and reviews from past weeks, and new program elements specially paced for weekends. Our weekend show emphasizes interviews with writers, filmmakers, actors and musicians, and often includes excerpts from live in-studio concerts. This week:

Texas Tech Public Radio is broadcasting a thirteen-week series of concerts by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.  Many people in our listening area have heard the DSO at home in the Meyerson Symphony Center.  As we air concert broadcasts by many of the world’s great orchestras, it is appropriate that the Dallas Symphony take its place on Texas Tech Public Radio.  Tune in for these concerts on Thursday evenings at 8pm.
