With the cotton harvest right around the corner, Texas Tech Athletics and the Texas High Plains cotton industry teamed up for the sold-out Celebrate Cotton game against Texas State where Tech had a dominating 33-7 win, but the day was not just about football.

You Are Invited! LATINO AMERICANS Event

Please join us for a special screening of LATINO AMERICANS on Tuesday, October 1st at Premiere Cinemas. Experience the contributions of Latinos to the Lubbock area and the celebration of their culture.

The event is open and free to the public Tuesday, October 1st  at Premiere Cinemas at 7pm. We will start with an introduction by Managing Director of Texas Tech Public Broadcasting, Robert Giovannetti.  The screening will kickoff with a local documentary which will highlight the amazing stories of Latinos right here on the South Plains.  Next, enjoy one hour of the national documentary LATINO AMERICANS - The 500 year legacy that shaped a Nation.  There will also be a Q&A following the screening with Producer John Valadez.
