On February 27th in the Texas Tech Allen Theatre, NPR's nationally-broadcasted show, From The Top, held a live taping of musical teen prodigies from Lubbock. The performance, featuring teen violinist Fiona Shea and flutist Yuna Langehennig, was a major success and received a standing ovation from the packed theatre.

Radio Program Hosts Taping At Tech

From the Top, a National Public Radio syndicated radio program, taped an upcoming radio show on Saturday in the Allen Theatre of the Student Union Building.

From the Top is the only national platform showcasing young and pre-collegiate classical musicians, David Balsom, producer of From the Top, said. This is the 16th year that From The Top has been on the air.

This is also the third time From the Top has taped a show in Lubbock, Sherril Skibell, development director for KTTZ-FM, said.

NPR's 'From The Top' is finally here! This nationally-broadcasted event will celebrate the great musical training and talent in the Lubbock area, including performances by two teen musicians, violinist Fiona Shea and flutist Yuna Langehennig.
