Dr. Heather Martinez currently serves as Director of the Institute for the Development and Enrichment of Advanced Learners, through her office she is responsible for implementing and overseeing programs and partnerships which serve the community, engage faculty, promote learning and encourage conversations about the value of higher education. Working with the IDEAL program she has helped kids find inspiration in Science and Technology.

American Graduate Day returns for its third year on September 27, 2014. This live national, multi-platform broadcast event focuses on the individuals and organizations working in communities across the country to keep students on the path to graduation.

 

Mrs. Fogerson's 21 years of administrative experience include having served as a middle school and high school assistant principal and principal, and as assistant superintendent for Lubbock-Cooper ISD. In 2001 she was named Educator of the Year by the Lubbock Hispanic Association of Women; and in 2004, Mrs. Fogerson was selected as the Region 17 Principal of the Year by the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals. She was later named one of the top four finalists for Texas Principal of the Year. A supporter of the work of LEARN Educational Talent Search throughout her career, Mrs. Fogerson was recognized as Texas TRiO Achiever by the Texas Association of Student Special Services Program.

Dr. Hill speaks with host, Robert Giovannetti about race relations in the United States.  This discussion precedes the PBS special "America After Ferguson" that will air on KTTZ Channel 5 tomorrow @7:00pm. 

This PBS town hall meeting, moderated by PBS NEWSHOUR co-anchor and managing editor Gwen Ifill, will explore the many issues brought into public discourse in the wake of Michael Brown’s death in Ferguson, Missouri.
