Robert ''Bob'' Wert graduated from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, N.J. Bob heard there was an opening in Lubbock and got out the maps to see where it was. He was at First United Methodist Church in Clarksburg, W.Va., in 1961, when he decided to go west. He had grown up in Lynchburg, Va., Washington, D.C., and Tennessee.

Bob Wert has been director of the choir program at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Lubbock since 1978.
